About Kate Mason

Kate is an accomplished and dedicated horsewoman who has had a passion for horses since the age of three, when she got her first pony. Kate is, primarily, an event rider. She discovered the world of eventing in the late 90's and has risen through the levels with marked sucess. She has taken many horses from complete "greenies" to accomplised and sucessful partners. Kate has evented through Preliminary and schooled Intermediate. Kate was also an avid Pony Clubber in Crescent Bay Pony Club for 8 years and has achieved the "H/A" rating, which is at a national level. She still works with pony clubbers and is one of the main instructors for the James River Pony Club.
 
Kate is currently a Firefighter/EMT for the city of Franklin and works there 11 days a month, on 24 hour shifts. She dedicates every day, not at the firehouse to teaching and training.
 
Kate enjoys working with young and/or green horses and developing them into enjoyable partners for their owners. She uses natural horsemanship methods and strongly believes in creating a partnership where respect is equal between horse and rider.
